Green PolkaDot Box and the Green Refrigerator Machine Partner to Preserve Perishable Food Products

The Ozonator, the Green Refrigerator Machine

Las Vegas, NV and Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) November 30, 2011

Today, Brittany Karlen Messmer and Russ Karlen, co-founders of the Ozonator™ the Green Refrigerator Machine that replicates the earth’s most powerful disinfectant, the Ozone, to extend the refrigerator life span of perishable foods, and Rod A. Smith founder of the Green PolkaDot Box, announced their partnership to offer the Ozonator through the world’s first online buying collective membership for Organic and Natural, Non-GMO Foods and Products.

The Ozonator replicates the earth’s Ozone by oxidizing and neutralizing ammonia and ethylene to delay the onset of mold and decay of perishable foods in the refrigerator. The award winning Ozonator™ popularly known as the Green Refrigerator Machine™ conceived by then college student, Brittany Karlen Messmer and father Russ Karlen, is a compact (6”x 5”) battery operated device that is placed in the refrigerator. The Green Refrigerator Machine has won several awards for its green ability to provide families an inexpensive solution to expensive refrigerator waste.

“It is frustrating to try fresh foods on hand when they spoil so rapidly. The average household throws out 180 lbs. of produce per year due to spoilage, so our Green Refrigerator Machine provides a perfect cost-saving solution to clean food focused Green PolkaDot Box members,” says Brittany Karlen Messmer. “The Ozonator extends the life and flavor of a foods including the fresh fruits and vegetables which decay most rapidly and are often the most expensive to purchase fresh.”

The Green PolkaDot Box™ (GPDB) objective is to educate consumers about the links between clean food and increased health while providing those choices to members at a more affordable price. Rod A. Smith chose to add the Ozonator to its launch line of organic and Non-GMO products because of its ability to help members naturally preserve their fresh foods.

“Obviously organic fresh foods don’t last as long as a chemically preserved food, so having a solution that sanitizes the refrigerator and naturally keeps healthy foods fresher longer is an important benefit to our members,” said Rod. A. Smith Founder. “The Green PolkaDot Box is pleased to offer the Green Refrigerator Machine to its members to extend the freshness life of perishable foods in their refrigerators.”

The Ozonator, The Green Refrigerator Machine not only extends the life of food, saving consumers over $ 500 per year, it also offers many other benefits like the elimination of all odors in the refrigerator, i.e.: fish, garlic, onions, etc. It operates on four “D” batteries and initially generates ozone for the first 60 minutes of operations, then automatically switches to standby mode for 170 minutes, activating every 10 minutes repeating that cycle for 230 minutes until the batteries need replacement (usually 3-4 months).

The Green PolkaDot Box™ is an online membership club that provides the lowest pricing on organic, natural and other healthy food products through partnerships that garner the best pricing from manufacturers and growers. A family business, founded by Rod A. Smith, the Green PolkaDot Box does not carry any products that contain harmful ingredients, including foods that are known to be genetically modified. The GPDB annual membership includes both a “club” or “reward” membership; the later offering a referral rewards program to help consumers earn their healthy food purchases. Both membership types feature a free delivery options. Learn how the GPDB referral rewards program helps consumers earn their healthy food purchases. http://www.greenpolkadotbox.com.

The Ozonator™ popularly known as The Green Refrigerator Machine™ promotes a clean environment inside your refrigerator. Produced in sufficient quantities, ozone is known to oxidize, and thereby destroy, many harmful germs and bacteria, molds, and yeast that can be transmitted from one family member to another by hand contact on foods, food containers and other hard surfaces inside your refrigerator. The Ozonator™ has been proven by a leading independent laboratory to produce ozone in safe quantities, reduce orders, and extend the shelf life of refrigerator stored perishable foods. The Green Refrigerator Machine recently took first place as Best of Expo at the New Living Expo in San Francisco and placed among the top five in the New Products Category at Go Green Expo in Los Angeles. Priced at $ 29.95, with the savings you get from food staying fresh longer, it will pay for itself within two months. World?s First ?Healthy Hot Food Vending Machine? Brings Healthy Meals to Obesity-Stricken Food Deserts

World’s First “Healthy Hot Food Vending Machine” Brings Healthy Meals to Obesity-Stricken Food Deserts

The Hot HUMAN Plus serves meals hot and drinks cold, providing a new level of convenient access to healthful food.

Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) December 12, 2011

HUMAN Healthy Vending is launching the world’s first line of vending machines to vend healthy hot foods, cold drinks, and snacks simultaneously from the same machine. HUMAN’s innovative line of hot food vending machines, coined the “Hot HUMAN,” vend cold drinks, such as Zico Coconut Water, healthy snacks, such as Pop Chips and Pirate’s Booty, and entire entrées – such as an Amy’s Organic entrées or Kashi frozen entrées, which the machines heat automatically before dispensing.

Because HUMAN Healthy Vending co-founders Sean Kelly and Andy Mackensen know that there is a link between low access to nutritious foods and childhood obesity, they are on a mission to place these machines in areas where people need access to healthful meals the most, including in areas designated as food deserts.

According to Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign, there are 23.5 million Americans – including 6.5 million children – who live in rural and urban areas across the country who lack access to convenient and affordable nutritious foods known as “food deserts.” In its most basic use, the term refers to an area where people have limited access to healthful food – the nearest grocery store may be a mile away – and limited means to purchase healthful foods. These areas tend to be low-income, have low business opportunity, and typically have a high-density per capita of fast food restaurants. These areas have been found to have higher rates of childhood obesity and cancer than areas that have convenient access to healthful foods.

The “Hot HUMAN” line of hot food vending machines has been in development for over three years, so we’re ecstatic to finally be launching it,” stated Andy Mackensen, co-founder of HUMAN Healthy Vending. “The thing that excites me most about this revolutionary new machine is our ability to effect massive change in our country’s food deserts where healthy food is needed most.”

It’s not just food deserts, however, that need access to more nutritious foods. Even in bustling urban centers, one is likely to find that office workers – who work long hours and often do not have the time or means to purchase a healthful meal – are eating junk food from vending machines. A recent Gallup Poll found that 86% of US workers are overweight, obese or suffering from a chronic health condition.

HUMAN Healthy Vending’s innovative fleet of healthy vending machines, including their newly launched line of hot & healthy vending machines, can provide people with convenient access to affordable and healthful foods at all hours of the day.

Blues/Rock Jam Band Dancing Goats Launches “Occupy Hunger for the Holidays” Fundraiser; Recruiting Bands Nationwide to Join in Supporting Their Local Food Banks

Blues/Rock Jam Band Dancing Goats Launches “Occupy Hunger for the Holidays”

New York, New York (PRWEB) December 09, 2011

The band Dancing Goats is producing a holiday fundraising event to support the Food Bank For New York City, which is the city’s major hunger-relief organization working to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs.

“Occupy Hunger For The Holidays” will take place on Friday, December 23 at 7 pm at the Mercury Lounge at 217 East Houston Street in New York City. All the band’s net proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Food Bank. Concertgoers are also asked to bring canned goods. Plus, the band will raffle off gift cards, theater tickets, and dinner certificates from some of New York’s best restaurants. Also performing at the benefit will be opening band, Mother Zeta.

Tickets are $ 15 and available through Ticket Master.

Dancing Goats is also launching an online campaign to encourage bands all across the country to do the same type of event in their communities. To be part of “Occupy Hunger for the Holidays” bands are asked to perform a show, collect canned goods and/or donate funds to their local food banks. Bands can post their event on Facebook.com/OccupyHungerHolidays.

“Hunger is a 100% problem – not just 99% or 1%,” says Dancing Goat Scott McPherson. “We decided to tie this event into the recent awareness about the Occupy movement. In the holiday spirit, we are aiming to show there are good people supporting a worthy cause on both sides of the percent sign”

The United States Department of Agriculture recently announced there are about 49 million Americans are facing hunger including 1 in 5 children. According to the Food Bank For New York City, throughout the five boroughs of New York City approximately 1.3 million people — mainly women, children, seniors, the working poor and people with disabilities — rely on soup kitchens and food pantries. Approximately 3 million New Yorkers experience difficulty affording food for themselves and their families, an increase of 60 percent since 2003.

“Hunger is a nationwide problem. Every local food bank needs local support. We hope to enlist bands nationwide to produce similar ‘Occupy Hunger for the Holidays’ events,” says McPherson.

Dancing Goats is a seven-piece rock/blues/jam band. The band’s performances feature a mix of original music interspersed with versions of popular songs with a Dancing Goats twist – from funk to high energy. The band is known for weaving from song to song, using spontaneous jams to bridge one song’s mood into another, making each performance unique.

Mobile Foods Pioneer Presents Best Food Truck Award

Stitches ‘n Dishes

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 09, 2011

Stitches ‘n Dishes, California’s only network of vendors, venues and their fans, providing news, schedules, reviews, high-quality photography, video and media coverage named a San Francisco-based food truck, “Best Food Truck” by a popular vote counted on December 3, 2011 at the third Sacramento Mobile Foods Festival, sponsored, in part by Stitches ‘n Dishes.

Nearly 700 of the 2000 attendees at the event were polled, and asked to vote for their favorite food truck of the day, after a sampling from upwards of 23 food trucks at Northern California’s largest and most diverse mobile foods festival. Sixteen of the 23 vendors received votes, while seven received no votes.

Ballots were included in an entry form for a drawing to win a Nintendo Wii Console bundle package with several games, sponsored by Stitches ‘n Dishes. The entries were tabulated immediately following the conclusion of the event, and double-counted.

The Bacon Bacon truck owned by Jim Angelus of San Francisco received nearly 20% of the votes, earning the title, “Best Food Truck” at the Festival. Stitches ‘n Dishes Co-Founders, Christopher Ford and Andrew Nicora, along with Stitch, the blog site’s mascot, will present a plaque to Angelus in recognition of the accomplishment in the next 10 days.

“We’re very happy to present our first ‘Best Food Truck’ award to Jim Angelus and his Bacon Bacon Truck,” said Ford. “Jim possesses a certain unique creativity that we only run into every so often. He listens and responds to his customers, and he’s interactive and engaging. His mobile restaurant is a true reflection of his own personality. When you reach this level of creativity, your customers respond. It’s no surprise that he took this award.”

Launched in July, 2011, Bacon Bacon was listed in the top ten food trucks in San Francisco by the Chase Sapphire Visa Signature Eater’s Choice Awards in October and continues to take Northern California by storm.

“I couldn’t believe we were voted Best Food Truck. It’s an honor,” said Angelus.

Read about the second and third place holders at the third Sacramento Mobile Food Festival, as well as an interview with Jim Angelus in the full article at http://stitchesndishes.com/2011/12/best-of-best-add-bacon-please/

Media should contact Christopher Ford for the date, time and location. The date, time and location will also be announced prior to the presentation.
